TPO
TPO membranes offer a unique blend of durability, energy efficiency, and affordability. They protect against UV rays, extreme temperatures, rain, snow, fire, and pollutants. The reflective white surface reduces rooftop and indoor temperatures, lowering cooling costs and enhancing HVAC efficiency.
The TPO-c membrane is used in mechanically attached, induction welded, and fully adhered roofing systems in new construction, reroofing and recover (retrofit) applications. It may also be used as flexible membrane flashings for walls, curbs, etc, when installing TPO-c membrane roofing systems. The system must be installed over acceptable roof insulation or other suitable substrates. See the Mule-Hide TPO Specifications Manual for complete specifications and details. Mule-Hide’s 16’ wide sheet is only available for fully adhered and induction welded roofs. The maximum sheet width that may be used for mechanically attached roof systems is 12’ wide TPO membranes
Self-Adhering TPO
Is used in fully adhered roofing systems in new construction, reroofing and recover (retrofit) applications. It may also be used as flexible membrane flashings for walls, curbs, etc, when installing TPO-c membrane roofing systems. The system must be installed over acceptable roof insulation or other suitable substrate. See the MuleHide TPO Specifications Manual for complete specifications and details.
Standard TPO
Silicone Coatings
Silicone coatings offer durable, energy-efficient roof restorations with excellent protection from the elements. They form a seamless, waterproof barrier against rain, snow, UV rays, and algae, while resisting ponding water and thermal shock. Available in reflective colors, they help reduce cooling costs and are easy to apply on various substrates.
Acrylic Coatings
Acrylic roof coatings offer a cost-effective, versatile solution for roof restorations. They form a seamless, waterproof, and durable surface with excellent UV resistance. Available in reflective colors, they help reduce cooling costs, and are quick to apply, working well with various substrates.
Standard EPDM
Can be used as an elastomeric single-ply roofing membrane for new construction and re-roofing applications. May be installed in Ballasted and Fully Adhered roofing systems.
EPDM
EPDM membranes offer durable, cost-effective, and weather-resistant protection for low-slope roofs. With seamless, leak-free performance, they resist hail, UV rays, ozone, extreme temperatures, tearing, and foot traffic. Quick to install, they boost crew efficiency.
Self-Adhering EPDM
MuleHide’s SA EPDM Membrane offers excellent weatherability, hail resistance, and significant labor savings. This EPDM option also qualifies as a Low-VOC option with no solvent-related odors. SA EPDM Membrane is a nominal 60-mil non-reinforced EPDM membrane laminated to a 100%-solid pressure-sensitive adhesive and is available in 10' x 100’ rolls. The release liner is silicon-coated on one side for consistent release from the adhesive. SA EPDM membrane is formulated with fire retardants to inhibit the spread of flame and can be incorporated in UL Class A systems.
PVC FRS Fleece Back
MuleHide PVC FRS Fleece Back utilizes Fiberglass Reinforcing Scrim, which adds dimensional stability to the membrane. It is enhanced with fleece for added puncture resistance, and an exceptional bond with acceptable adhesives. It is for use on adhered roofing systems and can be used on new construction, refoofing and recover (retrofit) applications. The system must be installed over an acceptable roof insulation or other suitable substrate.
PVC
PVC membranes are the toughest single-ply roofing option, withstanding severe weather, high winds, foot traffic, and building movement. They resist punctures, fire, UV rays, ozone, bacteria, and industrial pollutants. For facilities exposed to grease, oil, or chemicals, PVC's superior chemical resistance makes it the top choice.
Standard PVC
Is used in mechanically attached and fully adhered roofing systems in new construction, reroofing and recover (retrofit) applications. It may also be used as flexible membrane flashings for walls, curbs, etc, when installing PVC membrane roofing systems. The system must be installed over acceptable roof insulation or other suitable substrate. See the MuleHide PVC Specifications Manual for complete specifications and detail
Cold weather brings changes in how low-slope roofing materials must be stored, installed and applied. Here are useful guidelines and tips using MuleHide membranes and adhesives when temperatures dip to 40 F and lower.
Why Temperature Matters
In general, roofing products become stiffer and more difficult to work with as temperatures decrease. Installing or applying products when the ambient temperature is too low, or when the material is too cold, can result in significant performance issues – and even failure.
Membranes take longer to relax and are more difficult to install.
Modified bitumen membranes may develop cracks.
Self-adhering Modified Bitumen (SAMB) membranes may not adhere properly.
If water-based adhesives freeze, they will not perform properly and must be disposed of.
Solvent-based adhesives and sealants may separate. They also will take longer to dry. Condensation may form, preventing the surfaces from mating.
